mgr Agnieszka Mitkowska - Master's degree in pedagogy with a specialisation in re-socialisation. Teacher, educationalist and certified addiction psychotherapist.
She holds a postgraduate degree in care and educational pedagogy and has participated in numerous in-service courses and trainings, including professional training in crisis intervention and many others in the field of pedagogy and psychology.
Professionally, she works with families in crisis and in addiction psychotherapy.
From 2021 to 2025 she was involved with the Polish School in Ilford as a teacher and GCSE class teacher and school educator. During the pandemic and lockdown, she mentored at Oasis Academy in London and volunteered for action ‘Together for foster families’ as a Polish language tutor.
She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in the field of management of an educational establishment, broadening their managerial and organisational competences.
My professional interests focus on the determinants of risk behaviour, addiction issues and the concept of resilience. I am also interested in issues related to modern and activating teaching methods.
Privately - mother of a grown-up son, passionate about literature, mountains and travel.
Dr Maksi Kozinska is a linguist, educator and researcher of Polish heritage education in the UK. For more than fifteen years, she has been active in the development of Polish education, teaching, training and creating modern teaching materials for children and young people of Polish descent.
She completed her doctoral studies at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, where she defended a dissertation on the phenomena of gender agreement and the use of null subjects in the speech of Polish heritage speakers in England. Her research focuses on the relationship between language structure and the identity of young Poles growing up abroad.
Dr Kozinska is the author and co-author of acclaimed teaching publications, including the „New GCSE Topics” series and the textbooks „Polish lessons”. Develops curricula and guides for teachers of Polish as an inherited language. Expert and consultant on Polish education for the St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe Institute for Polish Language Development and the Polish Embassy in London.
She is passionately committed to creating a space where children and young people of Polish origin can develop their language, culture and sense of national identity. As co-founder of the School, she believes that language education is a bridge between generations and a ticket to a better life.
Dr Kozinska is also a mentor, examiner and consultant for Polish language teaching in the UK system (GCSE and A-level). She conducts numerous workshops and trainings for teachers at home and abroad. She has acted as a speaker and lecturer for, among others:
Her scientific and educational activities have been recognised on numerous occasions. She has been honoured with, among others. Medal of the Commission for National Education, „Golden pin of the Polish Educational Society”.”, as well as under the title Fellowships of the Institute for the Development of Polish Language (2024) for her lifetime contribution to the development of the Polish language abroad. In October 2025, she was awarded the statuette of Heart and Community Ambassador by the Polish Clan Association.

My name is Karolina Dolega and I have had the privilege of accompanying young people in learning Polish as a foreign language for over a decade. My adventure in education began in 2014 by teaching extra classes. Later, I became a class teacher. For the past 3 years, I have been systematically preparing young people for Polish language GCSE, and my students achieve the highest results.
Polish at GCSE is the so-called. modern language - For our pupils, it is not the first language, but the inherited language. I therefore focus not only on teaching the language itself, but also on examination structures and I show all examination traps from previous years. I know that my students need support in understanding, explanation and - above all - encouragement to prepare for their next exam.
I like working with teenagers: support them, discover their passions together with them, get to know them and stimulate in them the desire to find something new, instead of just copying patterns.
At work, I focus on an atmosphere of understanding, closeness and... a bit of humour! My motto „We love the Polish language!” is more than just a slogan - it is proof that even the most intricate grammatical forms can be loved when they are conveyed with heart.
School academies
For many years, I have been writing original scripts for school academies that aim to engage the audience and show a story related to the theme of the academy. During the pandemic period, among other things, I prepared the script for virtual May Academy.
Reading comprehension competition
In the years leading up to the pandemic, I initiated and ran a school reading comprehension competition - from the earliest grades through to examinations - showing that reading and understanding what you read are two different things.
Professional development
I am actively pursuing further training, taking advantage of the courses offered to Polish teachers, I am a long-standing member of the Teachers' Club, and I regularly attend conferences organised by the PMS for teachers in the UK.
Prizes and awards
My work has been recognised by Polish Educational Society, from whom I received my badge.
However, greatest honour are the words and beautiful thank you cards from the students for me: „Thank you for believing in me.”
and „Thanks to you, Saturdays at school are no longer boring!”
